Introduction
Unlock the thrill and skill of night flying with Flying Angel’s Flight Academy! Our specialized training program meets all CAASL regulatory requirements, ensuring you gain the expertise needed to operate safely and efficiently after sunset.
To fulfill the night flying requirements, students must complete a total of 5 hours of night flight time, which includes a cross-country flight, 5 solo takeoffs and full-stop landings. With expert instructors, Flying Angel’s Flight Academy prepares you for the challenges and beauty of flying under the stars.
Entry Requirements
- Age: Must be at least 17 years of age at the start of the program.
- Medical: A valid Class 1 Medical certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.
- Experience: Valid PPL or higher license issued by CAASL
- Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Duration: 01 Week
Course Structure
Our PPL Modular Training course integrates extensive ground school training with practical flying experience, ensuring you receive a well-rounded education.
Ground Training
A minimum of 210 hours of ground instruction through a mix of classroom sessions, presentations, computer-based training, discussions, and progress tests. Subjects include:
- Air Law: Understanding aviation regulations and legal responsibilities.
- Aircraft General Knowledge: Learning about aircraft systems and operations.
- Flight Performance and Planning: Mastering flight performance calculations and planning.
- Human Performance & Limitations: Understanding physiological and psychological factors affecting pilots.
- Meteorology: Studying weather patterns and their impact on flight operations.
- Navigation: Techniques for accurate navigation.
- Operational Procedures: Standard operating procedures for various flight scenarios.
- Principles of Flight: Theoretical principles underlying flight mechanics.
- Communications: Effective communication procedures for safe flying.
Flying Training
Upon completion of ground school, you will begin your flying training, covering:
- Pre-Solo: Introduction to flight controls and basic maneuvers.
- Circuits and Emergencies: Practicing takeoffs, landings, and emergency procedures.
- First Solo: Your first solo flight experience.
- General Handling Solo: Solo flights to enhance overall aircraft control.
- Basic Instrument Flying: Training in basic instrument navigation.
- Cross-Country Dual and Solo: Cross-country navigation exercises.
- Check Flight: Final assessment to validate your flying proficiency.
